I was very sorry to hear the sad news about Steven. He always gave his time so generously and will be very much missed by all the rowing community in Ireland. My thoughts are with the family at this sad time.

It makes me so honoured to have worked with and shared "Popes" friendship and guidance from 82-87 he made me laugh continually and cared for me like a brother in Warrenpoint in good and bad times and when he went to firearms I always had 51 out off 50 no matter what !! Every time we met that big grin brightened my day !! Stronger or Weaker but never the same !! Myself and Jennie enjoyed the privilege of having him in our formative years and having observed his family at his funeral he lived life to the full and made the title of Husband and Dad what it should be ! I will miss his humour but will keep you all in our thoughts .

Stephen, you were a great friend and colleague to Janet and myself over many years. We will miss your warmth and humour immensely. You always went above and beyond to help and assist others and that will never be forgotten. Our thoughts are with Letty, the children, and the wider family circle at this very difficult time. Dear Family,
I’m not sure I can find the words to express how heartbroken we are to hear the sad news about Steven. He was such a massive support to me and my family when my dad, Ron, passed away, and his kindness and compassion carried us through such a difficult time.
Steven was a truly decent and caring person, and I know his legacy will live on in the many lives he touched.
With deepest sympathy,
Darren, Gary and Jennifer
